7th Annual Christmas Party Recap

Our 7th annual Christmas party was two weekends ago, and it was another fun, pajama-themed one.  A few guests smaller than last year (you can also see 2010′s wrap up here), but still plenty of chatting, drinking, beer football playing, and of course, eating.

Food

Pepperoni pizza dip with crackers
Caramelized onion dip with veggies and chips (subbing Greek yogurt for the sour cream)

Butternut squash tart (super easy recipe probably to come)

Cranberry-spinach-feta wraps (inspired by several Pinterest pins)

Buffalo chicken meatballs (adapted from my buffalo chicken burger recipe)

Peppermint-cheesecake brownies (recipe probably to come)

Ginger-molasses crinkles

Drink

To drink, we again had a tub of assorted winter and Christmas ales, with tasting glasses for those who wanted the option to try several and still be able to drive home. In addition to several of last year’s winners, a few other favorites and new finds made their way into the selection, including the  Great Lakes Christmas Ale, which we couldn’t find anywhere last year and ended up way overstocking on this year, hah.

Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs of Christmas
Columbus Brewing Company Winter Warmer
Breckenridge Christmas Ale
Great Lakes Christmas Ale
Southern Tier 2xmas (I am in LOVE with this one!)
Widmer Bros Brrr (a really good non-Christmas-y winter seasonal)
Brew Kettle Winter Warmer
Avery Brewing Old Jubiliation Ale

And of course the perennial favorites of peppermint schnapps-spiked hot chocolate and the ever-changing holiday punch. This year’s punch was my favorite yet, with cinnamon-infused vodka and ginger beer in the mix. The recipe for that is coming up this week.

We also hosted a lasagna dinner for a Board I head the following week, and now I’m on to planning our Christmas Eve and Christmas meals. I love all the holiday get togethers and delicious food!

What’s your favorite thing to eat at all your holiday celebrations?
